OUR MISSION
OUR MISSION
“To glorify God by loving Him, our neighbor, and one another
through the saving work of Christ.”
To Glorify God 1st Peter 4:11
"Whoever speaks, as one who speaks oracles of God; whoever serves, as one who serves by the strength that God supplies—in order that in everything God may be glorified through Jesus Christ. To him belong glory and dominion forever and ever. Amen."
By Loving Him, Our Neighbor Mark 12:30-31
"And he said to him, 'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. This is the great and first commandment. And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets."
And One Another John 13:34-35.
"A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
Through the saving work of Christ Galatians 2:20
"I have been crucified with Christ. It is no longer I who live, but Christ who lives in me. And the life I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me." (ESV)
OUR METHOD
Our mission contains the three “loves” Jesus gave his disciples. We exist:
To Glorify God by
-
Loving Him
-
Our Neighbor, and
-
One Another — through the saving work of Christ.”
-
Loving Him (God). We come to love God and please God through our faith 1 in Christ alone. That faith comes by hearing the word of God 2. As a church we grow in love toward God by growing in knowledge of Him and by worshiping Him with all our hearts, soul and mind.
Our method: Sunday morning gatherings, praise events, the sacraments and an intense emphasis on prayer.
Hebrews 11:6; Romans 10:17; Mark 12:30
-
Loving Neighbor. Jesus tells us a true neighbor is the one who actually helps those in need.3 The best help we can give our neighbors is the news of the Gospel, and that should also include material help if they are in need.
Our method: Family events, food pantry, and neighborhood/ school connections.
Luke 10:36-37; James 2:16
-
Loving One Another. This new commandment from Jesus tells us to love one another as He has loved us.5 Jesus’ loved His disciples by teaching them, encouraging them6, praying for them7 and sacrificing Himself 8 for them.
Our Method: Disciple-making small groups, church-wide fellowships, family meetings, meaningful membership and reconciliation.9
John 13:34-35; John 14:1-7; John 17:9; John 10:15; Matthew 5:23-24
We are committed to spreading the Gospel beyond our local community through strategic giving to the International Mission Board (IMB) and the North American Mission Board (NAMB). These initiatives, driven by the Southern Baptist Convention, focus on planting churches in North America and sending missionaries across the globe. Our contributions support these missionaries and church planters as they share the love and message of Jesus Christ. We encourage our congregation not only to give through the church but also to contribute directly to these impactful programs.
